The study is based on a broad interdisciplinary approach, taking into account sources ranging from feminist, cultural and postmodern theory to
linguistic, psychanalytical and philosophical work. Tracing understandings of women in the formation of Western intellectual tradition, the analysis engages with the power dynamics and exclusionary processes at work
in discourses which continue to have impact on women’s position in the political and social context.
The study brings together concepts drawn from Aristotle, Artaud, Austin, Bakhtin, Barthes, Batailles, Baudrillard, Bergson, Boal, Brecht, Butler,
Cixous, de Certeau, Derrida, Foucault, Lacan, Hegel, Irigaray, Kristeva, Plato, Sartre, Wittig and others.
In due course, this website will provide a short introductory overview of the key aspects of the theories dealt with.
